~Thing that makes me say AH-HA! ( Ari Cohen is a theatre genius )
~Things that make me go, d’oh!
*Brandon Routh’s contract for the next Superman film has lapsed. Which is a moot point since there has been no action on the side of Warners for another Supes film anytime soon anyway. A film he’s in, “Life in Cracktown” was released over a week ago in limited release, he was cut out of another film and although the folks at work on “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” I haven’t seen any pics of Brandon on set or featured in the vlogs.
But there is some good news in the Routh home, his wife Courtney Ford has joined the cast of “Dexter” this season along with John Lithgow. ( In Lieu of Brandon, Chris Evans on set )
*( Comic Con Updates )
*Mark Seliger has done a gorgeous shoot for Vanity Fair “Ain’t We Got Style” spread melding new Hollywood with old Hollywood films. It kills me that Tom Welling is not in these types of shoots. Seliger is a stellar photographer and back when US magazine was a real magazine and not a tabloid, he created, what I consider, iconic images for the magazine. ( The Spread )

~The L.A Times ran an article about “Nip/Tuck”’s final season which I found very interesting because of its candor. The cast speaks about the show losing its way, but this quote from Dylan Walsh stands out.

Another “Why were you invited?” moment from Diddy’s ( White Party )
~Things that make me go, dawnybee, you suck. I’m bad at wishing people birthdays and I have to do better because I do read my entire flist and appreciate you all. I want to wish Happy Belated Birthdays to tasabian who still brings the Clex and SV luv and enthusiasm; aelora from your love for Dan Abrams to now and being so giving with yourself online , rose_etta with your generosity and inviting me into your home to share the SV viewing experience, chrisluvstommy, the name alone shows how surpremely grand you are. Surprisingly, traffic in LA didn’t seem that bad considering the huge radius that was being shut down downtown for Michael Jackson’s funeral. Our network is running really slow today so I couldn’t watch the service so I listened to it. I don’t understand why it needed to be such a spectacle. It became a tribute concert rather than a funeral/homecoming. And the fact that it cost the taxpayers of L.A big bucks when California is strapped for cash is really ridiculous. That said. I am so glad fans had this chance to be there. I get wanting to be a part of something like this. If it is still there when I get off of work, I’ll take my niece to the Staples Center and we’ll sign the memorial board they have there.

~Rumor Du Jour: Smallville to go to film?
~Twitter Watch: Rosenbaum is off to do a Kevin Spacey film. Wentworth Miller will appear in the season premiere of "Law and Order: SVU". Wentworth also voiced a character on "Family Guy" this season. So he's apparently fine with doing just TV nowadays.
~Two Casting spoilers for SPN.
~There are many things trying to tempt me this week: ( I Am Only Human )
~Seeing as that all my shows are on hiatus, I haven’t watched TV much. I’m still watching “Harper’s Island” half-assedly (watching bits and pieces on On Demand). Last week’s episode was excellent though.
I am watching USA’s “Royal Pain” starring Mark Feurstein and Paolo Constanza. It’s a really good show. Very entertaining. Tried to watch Jada Pinkett Smith’s “HawthoRNe” (get it? Oh, TNT, you’re so clever.) but I’m finding it slow to get into. I’ll give it another go.
Two shows I’m excited about ( are )
~On the film front, I don’t think there’s anything I’m looking forward too. I was waiting for “Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen”, saw it, was disappointed in it and now there’s nothing I’m jonesing for. Unlike people who have the next Harry Potter to wait for. ( When did they grow up? )
~I end this post with a J2 fic come to life. Jensen Ackles joined Kane in Portland at his concert where Aldis Hodge introduced Kane and he and Jensen led the crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to Christian. You know what this means, right? Going by J2 fics this means that Jared is pregnant with Jensen’s baby.
( Jared even calls him Chris. I thought that was fanon )

I decided to go to Michael Jackson’s star on the Walk of Fame to see what type of vigil was going on. Before I left work I had read that where Michael’s real star is wasn’t accessible due to the premiere of “Bruno” at the Mann’s Chinese Theatre, so it was suggested that people go to the Jackson 5’s star instead.
( It’s never that simple )
Warner Bros. Comic Con attendees has been announced.
Interesting that while SV's panel lists that more names will be announced (I'm thinking the new cast member), SPN looks as if there's only going to be the creative team and Misha and Jim Beaver.

| » Who's going to take care of his "kids"? |
From ONTD (who I am sure will crash LJ with this news)
We've just learned Michael Jackson was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Los Angeles ... and we're told it was cardiac arrest and that paramedics administered CPR in the ambulance.
He was picked up at his home around 20 minutes ago -- we're told his mother is on the way to visit him.
UPDATE: The 911 call came in at 12:21PM at his Holmby Hills home in L.A.
UPDATE: A Jackson family member tells TMZ Michael is in "really bad shape" and the brothers are headed to UCLA.
UPDATE: We just got off the phone with Joe Jackson, Michael's dad, who says "he is not doing well."
**My friend and I were talking today about the notion of deaths coming in threes and she bet on Patrick Swayze and I don't bet on death, but I thought it could be someone out of left field. Michael better not die, I don't think I can deal with the news coverage of people who used to crack on him now being somber and saying, "A light has gone out in the entertainment world."
Meanwhile my boss is just saying, "He can't die. He can't die. He can't die." If MJ goes, I fear my boss will be next, his grief will be that complete.
~Total aside, FOX released their Comic Con participants.
And I read that the SV panel has been tentatively announced with Hartley, Freeman, Durance and surely the writers on the dais.

~I was at Barnes & Nobles and read the current two part Superman/Batman #61 title ( Mash Up )
~Another mash-up (sucky segue) is Greg Beeman reuniting with his SV friends Darren Swimmer and Todd Slavkin. Beeman updated his blog with the news that he’s now on “Melrose Place”. Greg seems like a really super guy so I’m happy for him but I think his friendship is coloring his opinion on “Melrose Place”.
Greg on the pilot: The pilot, which was directed by Davis Guggenheim, is intense, sexy, dark, edgy and shimmering. The cast is all-around excellent. My full expectation is that this series is going to be a breakout hit next season
Oh, you! I’ll repeat what Joe Davola said to Tom Welling at the Paley fest “You have the job.” No need for the stroking.
He also posts that he’s if he’ll be able to post on set pictures like he did on “Heroes” and that it’s “still in the works” because obviously not only doesn’t the CW refuses to promote their shows, they don’t like when other people do it.
~Another person has departed “Heroes”----again. Bryan Fuller who left the show to do “Pushing Daisies” returned to “Heroes” stating that he was going to help turn it around has once again left to do develop other projects for NBC. My guess is that deep down he couldn’t take Claire’s wig one more season.
~Idle thoughts about the latest SV casting spoilers and a SPN casting spoiler
*This Jared Padalecki interview snippet spurs me to ( send a message to Jensen Ackles )
~ “90210”’s Kellan Lolz and Ryan Eggold made People’s Hottest Bachelors list tying at fifth place because People don’t want to address that while Kellan’s body is a bit of alright, his hairline is receding faster than the polar ice caps.
#1 went to Chace “why did Ed stop loving me??” Crawford. ( JC doesn’t know what he lost. )
~Another person who made the list was Common who, when asked what the most extreme thing, he talked about his relationship with Erykah Badu. Okay, he doesn’t expressly mention Erkyah, ( but I’m sure it’s her. )

( You’re welcome, Jensen )
~Now that “Spring Breakdown” is out, caps of Justin Hartley in the film are making the rounds. Oh, Justin never let people stop ( objectifying you )
~Someone tweeted that they saw Tom at the Warner Bros. lot yesterday. Maybe he’s there to kick someone’s ass over the horrible S9 promo pic for SV. But looking at their other pics for their shows I realize that the CW publicity department doesn’t just hate “Smallville”. They hate all of their existing shows.
( Fuck Effort, CW Style )
~I must admit, my heart, she is still heavy for the lack of Chad next season. How can I hate him properly if he’s not there to mock? Why didn’t the CW think of my feelings before firing him? Damn that Dawn O. Rumor is that he wanted more than $2 million to return. I’m sure it was $2 million for the rest of the run of the series because no way in hell is the CW giving anyone $2 mill a season. I don’t see that happening. Chad would’ve been happy with $500,000. That would keep him in hairspray and hashish.
( Mayhem through the years: Gag bag not included )
~Is Adam Gregory even slated for “90210” next season? I don’t care as long as he ( stays cute )
~Michael Rosenbaum returned to his alumnus Western Kentucky University recently and said about a return to SV "They've been trying to get me to come back," he said. "I made bald people cool, but I don't want to shave it again. 'Smallville' was a huge success, so I'm very grateful."
After playing a villain for seven years, Rosenbaum said, "Now it's all about developing new relationships with the comedy world.”
Now can the SV showrunners stop embarrassing themselves and refrain from begging him to come back? Can they now just say no they’re not going to incorporate Lex into the show bodily and just keep his name alive?
~SV casting ( speculation )

Sucks that Glover didn’t win (and he wasn’t pictured on the red carpet with his partner Adam Kurtzman, although he was there beside him in the seats) but I was really happy for the guy who did win. | » TCA Noms, Death of a Carradine.... |
~Upon hearing of David Carradine’s death I went through many emotions: first I didn’t feel anything because the last thing I saw him in was “Crank 2” and not that anyone should go into “Crank” looking for some kind of enlightenment, I found him taking the role of an old Asian guy with a “fu manchu” and stupid dialect way too much to stomach. That coupled with Bai Ling being extra insane, really didn’t help the matter. I was always confused by David: was he a race appropriator or did he have a true fondness, respect and interest in the Asian culture? Maybe he just ran with it due to his role in “Kung Fu”?
Then I started thinking about the people he left behind. Suicide compound the tragedy for the loved ones, especially if there’s no note. What about his wife and daughters he left behind? And his brothers Keith and Robert and their kids Martha Plimpton and Ever Carradine?
Then I heard ( latest bit )
~There’s going to be some teabagging on the set of “Heroes” next season. Not the usual kind between Adrian Pasdar and Milo Ventimarsupial. Rob Knepper will not break free of a pigeonhole and will be the lead villain .
He’ll play, Samuel, a Jim Jones type -- charismatic but evil, with a twisted sense of humor -- who will veer into the lives of all heroes. The character had been referred to as "Carnival Barker" in the series breakdown released last month. .
~Josh Friedman, TSCC showrunner laments his show’s demise on his blog.

~ I had a rant building up in me directed at Jensen Ackles because of an article stating that should there be a season six, he’d be returning. It made me think of that interview he gave in Australia indicating that Smallville had overstayed its welcome and I was thinking, “You’re on a show that has already killed both their leads by season four, what could they possibly explore in seasons five through six that won’t seem like a retread?”. But it sounds like, from the article, that he’s contracted through six. It doesn’t seem like amped about it, contractually that’s just how it shakes out. I didn’t want to think that bright eyes was a hypocrite. Besides, he still looks like a baby when he smiles.
( This is the smile Jared loves )
~ “Spring Breakdown”, featuring Justin Hartley, was released yesterday on DVD and OnDemand. Unfortunately it wasn’t at my neighborhood Hollywood Video, so I’m going to check Blockbusters. Damn Smallville cast members making me love them so that I’ll support them in their endeavors!
And mystery solved on who I confused Justin Hartley with at the CW upfronts. As jeannev pointed out it was a “Melrose Place” actor. It was Shaun Sipos. Ewwww, my vision is worse than I thought.
( How could I confuse this with Justin? )
~While the shows are on hiatus, casting reports are starting to surface. SV is casting for a new male character. I don’t even want to know.
*Madeline Zima of “Californication” is coming to “Heroes” for a recurring role. She was the little girl from “The Nanny”. ( Not so little anymore )
~There was another awards show besides “The MTV Movie Awards”. It was Spike TV’s Guy Choice Awards. I don’t know the details of the categories but I’m guessing they were aimed at guys. ~I completely forgot about the MTV Movie Awards until it was going off. I'm officially not in the MTV demo because I had no idea it was coming up so soon. Watched the second replay...currently watching it rather. It's been pretty funny. I still don't get "Twilight", Robert Pattinson or why Zac Efron can't keep his fucking hair out of his eyes.
I'm conflicted about Cam Gigandet's second win in the category of "Best Fight" because hey Cam was in "Never Back Down", but "Twilight"s fight scene could not compare to any scene in "Never Back Down" so it was not a deserved win. Another reason why NBD was so much better? Cam couldn't stop touching Sean Faris as they won their award, he and Pattinson were like strangers on stage. Take that, "Twilight"!
~I was going to read the recaps from the Asylum SPN con, but when I came across one post saying that the audience booed Jensen for not doing that "Eye of the Tiger" bit, I decided to just sit it out. Besides I can just wait for the Fandom Wank posts.
One thing I'm seeing are references to Lasik so Jensen either got it done recently or he had it done a while ago and is just now mentioning it. I hope this doesn't mean the end of 'Jensen with Glasses', because I like that in fic.
~Broadway.com has an interview with that Magnificent Bastard, John Glover. Some great pictures ( accompany the article. )
~Another SV parent has been busy in another way. Annette O’Toole accompanied her husband onstage in New York at a Spinal Tap: Unwigged and Unplugged concert. They performed “A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow” ( D’Awwww )
~Also seen on Twitter were tweets from people who met John Schneider at some convention and how nice and hot he was. One tweet came from someone who had no idea he was on “Dukes of Hazzard” or “Smallville”, but loved him as Ram Peters from “Nip/Tuck”. See, John Schneider making fans all over the place.
I saw him on a program on CMT (Country Music Television) about actors who also sing and he said that he considers himself a singer more than an actor so when people comment that they didn’t know he sings, it breaks his heart. So if you ever meet Bo Kent, make him feel good and bring up the music.

This is why I don't want to follow actors I like on Twitter.
New Michael tweet: @steveagee Yes 1 through 710 WERE taken.Bastard!Hope your well. ..
My eye twitched when I read that. It's YOU'RE, Rosey. YOU'RE. You Are. Hope you are well.
It's a little thing and people are lax on the interwebs and goodness knows I misspell and use the wrong words at times and it kills me when I do. But you're and your is one of those things like it's and its that sting when I see them used improperly. But that's my hang-up. Some things stand out and annoy me for no reason. Like when I saw "Star Trek" and realized that Spock was a Vulcan from Vulcan, I stopped and stared at the screen for maybe three minutes thinking, "Why are they called Vulcans then? Shouldn't it be Vulcanians or Vulcanites?" Like I live on Earth (reportedly) and I'm an Earthling. Superman is from Krypton and he's a Kryptonian. You live in Peru? You're a Peruvian. WHY ARE VULCANS JUST VULCANS THEN?
That really bugged me.
On a related note: ONTD_Star Trek has some macros for your amusement

Rosenbaum has tweeted. (Nathan Fillion tweeted at him.)
Know who else is supposedly on Twitter? The debonair Wentworth Miller. I bet he tweets about Jean-Paul Sartre and Monty Python.
I say supposedly because I don’t think Wentworth would have a background of himself on Twitter.
I refuse to get involved in this twitter business, no matter how many of the actors I adore tweet. I must stand firm in this.
Know who else has a Twitter account and really doesn’t need it? Misha Collins. I'm seeing tweets from people referring to him as a “git”, an “arsehole” (why the hate, Brits?) and a freak. Soooo, good stuff coming from the Ashy Lipped Angel I’m guessing. He’s following Michelle Obama News and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He's so special.
~Saw “Land of the Lost”.
::deafening silence::
Maybe if you’re a die-hard fan of the original you’d like it? I’ve never watched an episode, only the opening on Youtube to laugh at how outrageously cheesy it was. It just seems that they took the premise of the show and just added Will Ferrell’s and Danny McBride’s brand of humor. They didn’t adapt to the role, they adapted the script to the actors. It’s rated PG-13 for good reason.
And did Leonard Nimoy get a new agent or something because he has a voice cameo in this film.
~Tom Welling Hiatus Watch '09: Las Vegas Confidential reported: Tom Welling, who played (dawnybee: plays. Get it right.) a young Clark Kent in "Smallville," wearing a Boston Red Sox cap at the Rolex World Cup at the Thomas and Mack during the Dressage event.

~Saw “Drag Me to Hell” last night. Thoroughly entertaining. And the best thing was that it gave me nightmares, which these other horror films I’ve seen recently haven’t. It’s the typical bold macabre of other Raimi work or “Tales from the Crypt”. And the best thing? Justin Long didn’t irritate me.
